What Do Student Ambassadors Do?

What to Expect

As a Student Ambassador, you will engage with prospective and current students, faculty, and UC Online staff to help improve the student experience and guide online learners throughout their educational journey. 

Ways in which Student Ambassadors may become involved:
  • Represent UC Online by sharing your experience and what it means to be a Bearcat
  • Support prospective students and encourage current students through your insights, advice, and journey
  • Share stories and participate in opportunities that strengthen the online Bearcat community
  • Provide feedback and perspectives that help shape the future of the UC Online student experience
  • Build connections across the Bearcat community through engagement and events
Student Ambassadors will be given opportunities for personal growth and development, including:
  • Gaining knowledge and leadership skills in a virtual environment
  • Working with peers and university staff and faculty
  • Advancing awareness across multiple platforms for the online student community

Student Ambassador Activities

Student Ambassador activities may include:
  • Attend virtual events and/or webinars for UC Online students, prospective students, and alumni
  • Share a headshot and short bio to be present on Ambassador web page and materials
  • Share testimonials and stories across multiple platforms
  • Creation and sharing of social media content
  • Assisting in website usability testing to help inform possible changes
  • Collaborating with peers and university faculty and UCO staff

Not at this time; the online student ambassador program is intended for online students and alumni so that they can share their online educational experience. If you are interested in becoming a UC Student Ambassador, there are a few programs across campus. Reach out to a staff member with the corresponding college your program is/was a part of to find more information. 

What is the difference between an ambassador and a mentor? right arrow down arrow

Ambassadors represent and promote an organization by sharing their experiences, engaging with prospective students, and helping build community awareness. Mentors, on the other hand, provide guidance and support to individuals by offering advice, sharing resources, and helping them navigate challenges. While ambassadors focus on outreach and advocacy, mentors focus on personal and academic development.
