What Is TimelyCare?
Discover how TimelyCare supports UC students with free virtual health and wellness services
College is stressful, especially when you’re an online student. Balancing your coursework, career, and other obligations can leave you feeling burnt out. That’s why the University of Cincinnati has partnered with TimelyCare so that you can put your mental health first.
Keep reading for more information on what TimelyCare offers and how online UC students can take advantage of all it has to offer.
TimelyCare: An Overview
Telehealth has grown increasingly common in the last decade. However, for many people, simply having access to a virtual provider isn’t enough. With college students consistently reporting poor mental health, including anxiety and severe depression, it’s crucial that universities offer resources tailored specifically to supporting students.
UC’s online students residing in Ohio have access to mental health support through UC Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). But what about online students who live out of state? This is where TimelyCare comes in.
TimelyCare is an online platform dedicated to providing virtual health and well-being support to students—completely for free and 100% online. From mental health counseling and health coaching to medical consultations and self-care resources, TimelyCare ensures that out-of-state students have the support they need to navigate their online degree program.
What TimelyCare Offers
A lack of resources isn’t always what stops students from seeking support. Many students know that resources are available, but taking advantage of them is overly complicated or confusing. TimelyCare eliminates those barriers to receiving care when you need it.
TimelyCare’s virtual clinic offers both medical care and mental health services, including:
On-demand, 24/7 mental and emotional support through TalkNow
Psychiatric care appointments within 2-3 days (on average)
MedicalNow, which provides 24/7 urgent and low-acuity medical care as an alternative to costly ER visits
CrisisNow, a 24/7 phone line that connects students with crisis support
Scheduled medical care and counseling appointments
Additional services include health coaching, a digital self-care library, a virtual peer community, and more. Most importantly, these resources are easy and non-intimidating to access. If a student is already struggling, TimelyCare makes it easier to reach out for help, not harder.
How Can UC Students Access TimelyCare?
As previously mentioned, TimelyCare is available for free to online students who reside outside of Ohio.
You can access TimelyCare through UC’s CAPS site or by visiting TimelyCare’s login page for UC students. If you have any questions about TimelyCare, you can reach out directly to CAPS at 513-556-0648.
Remember: Needing support doesn’t make you weak. We hope that TimelyCare will strengthen your support system and encourage you to prioritize your health and wellness—from your first day to your last final exam.
