Family Nurse Practitioner

GCM

Why study Family Nurse Practitioner?

Family, in its broadest definition, influences nearly every aspect of a person’s health. As a family nurse practitioner, you treat the family as the unit of care, rather than isolated individuals. Graduates of the FNP program care for patients of all ages, working in a wide-array of primary population-based care offices to outpatient clinic settings. Family nurse practitioners provide care to individuals who are well, or who have common health problems. Responsibilities include monitoring chronic diseases, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, prescribing medications and other treatments, providing health maintenance care, promoting positive health behaviors and collaborating with physicians and other interprofessional health care team members.
